Welcome to the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, GWRRA! We hope you will participate with Virginia Chapter Y, The Blue Ridge Wings, chartered from Leesburg VA. As a GWRRA member you are a GWRRA member. You can participate with any and all chapters in any and all events, worldwide. However, most folks like to know their local members and participate with them on a more day-to-day basis. Our chapter is small, but we have many activities going, especially in the "riding season" and in its run up. We like to be known for our great rides. We do live in an unique riding area at the base of the Blue Ridge, and we like to enjoy its destinations and roads. We try to ride to one or two major rallies and to the Virginia District Rally in the fall, each year. During the run up to the "riding season," we like to take GWRRA education seminars, CPR & 1st Aid courses, on-bike rider and co-rider practice, and Motorcycle Foundation Safety Courses, which increase our knowledge, skill, and riding fun. We'd like you to join us.

Our monthly social gathering is usually the third Sunday of the month at 5 PM. During the riding season, we like to have a Pre-Social Gathering Ride and end up at the Social Gathering. Please check the event list at the right side of this website or the "2010 Happenings!" menu item for the exact time of the Pre-Gathering Ride each month. At the monthly social gatherings, we eat dinner, catch up on upcoming rides and education, talk about something of immediate interest, make award presentations, ogle each other's bikes and new gadgets, and generally socialize.

This Chapter Y Website and the Chapter Byways and Highways Newsletter, also posted on the website, are great resources for you to use. First, they will keep you informed of what's going on and changing. Second, you can use them to learn about GWRRA: Its organization, its guidelines, its education program, its rallies and events, and its people.
